Dana Weaver Bio

Dana Weaver comes from a background of faith and missions.  She is the daughter of a Southern Baptist Pastor and Missionary. She was raised in Southern California, where her father pastored a church. When Dana was eight years old, her family entered the mission field, first in Trinidad and then Germany and Norway.

They returned to the States at the end of her high school years. She started college at California Baptist College, where she met Joe several years later. They married in 1981. Now together for 42 years, they have four children and seven grandchildren.

Dana has a BA in English with emphasis on Creative Writing. She has spent her career in Children's Ministry, first as an Executive Director of a private Christian elementary school and preschool for fifteen years. Then she served as a Director of Children's Ministry at Church of the Woods in Lake Arrowhead, California, for the last fourteen years.

Dana and Joe joined our Tanzania Mission team four years ago. Their first trip was in 2019, and again in 2022. They organized and led Vacation Bible Schools for several hundred children at three churches. In addition to teaching at the Marriage Conferences and local churches, she did hands-on ministry at the Water Is Life "The Lord's Children" (orphanage), and the church communities we visited.

Dana is an excellent communicator and teacher. She and Joe taught Sunday School to children and adults. During her Vacation Bible School teaching sessions many children raised their hands to receive Christ for the first time.

Joe and Dana are financial supporters of Water Is Life.
