Keith Rust Bio

Keith Rust has been a board member of Water Is Life, Inc. since 2010. He has been on multiple mission trips, including Moldova, Hungry, and Tanzania. His journey to Tanzania with Water Is Life lasted four weeks, traveling and ministering in different parts of the country.

Keith grew up in Northern California on his family’s ranch. His early family was well-established in the cattle and farming business, which impacted his growing-up years.

Although he enjoyed his family farm growing up, he was a gifted artist and was encouraged by one of his instructors to pursue and further develop his artistic abilities. Prompted by his instructor, he applied to the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, and was accepted. Although he worked in the Computer Games industry for over a decade and was successful, he decided to pursue teaching art at the high school level. Keith is a well-respected instructor by both students and faculty. He enjoys encouraging young artists by teaching the students new skill sets and techniques that will help them further develop their giftedness.

Little did Keith know he would teach art classes in Tanzania high schools. Art classes were virtually unheard of in Tanzania. The team received many donations, including art supplies for the trip. The students were fascinated by his teaching. So much so that the principal asked him to come back for three months and teach. He was also a practical Bible study teacher interacting with kids at all levels.

Keith is a financial supporter of Water Is Life.
